Explainable, reversible Windows maintenance

PC Performance Center

Nothing changes until you have seen exactly what will happen and approved it.

A Windows 10/11 desktop utility for health checks, safe cleanup, startup management, storage analysis, software and driver inventory, network diagnostics, live hardware monitoring and reversible gaming sessions.

Where it is today Version 1.0.0 for Windows 10/11 (64-bit), with 119 automated tests; the build is not code-signed yet

The problem

PC “optimisers” change things you cannot see or undo

Typical tuning tools delete files, edit the registry and flip settings in one click, with no record of what changed and no way back when something breaks.

Built for

What it does

Capabilities

Read-only first

Every scan, inventory and diagnostic only reads. Findings show their evidence, risk and whether they can be undone.

One review for every change

Each action shows its targets, consequences, the exact commands, whether admin rights are needed and how to undo it, then is executed, verified and recorded.

Undo what can be undone

Startup toggles, power plans, Game Mode, GPU preference and game config edits store their exact original value and can be rolled back from Activity & Rollback.

Personal files are off-limits

Documents, Downloads, Desktop, OneDrive, source folders and browser credential stores can never be removed, and every file is re-checked immediately before deletion.

Gaming sessions survive a crash

Temporary gaming changes are written to a recovery journal before they are applied, so they are restored after a crash or power loss.

Normal rights, no telemetry

The app runs as a standard user; the few admin operations run one at a time in an allowlisted helper behind a UAC prompt. Nothing leaves the PC.

How it works

The flow

  1. Scan (read-only)
  2. Findings with evidence
  3. Review dialog
  4. Approve
  5. Execute
  6. Verify
  7. Record and undo
Try it

Approve a change, or watch one get refused

Four sample runs through the same review-and-record path the app uses for every action.

$ Cleaner › Scan

  1. Scan (read-only)
    • User temp, browser caches and crash dumps found
    • Every file checked against the protected-path policy
  2. Review dialog
    • Targets listed with sizes
    • Deletion is permanent: extra acknowledgement required
  3. Execute and verify
    • Each file re-checked just before deletion
    • Two locked files skipped and reported
Cleaned and recorded

The result is logged as partial because two files were in use. Nothing was hidden.

Simulated walkthrough with sample data. Nothing here connects to a live system.

Limitations

  • Windows 10/11, 64-bit only.
  • The build is not code-signed, so Windows SmartScreen warns on first launch.
  • No CPU package temperature, and no fan, RGB or OEM performance-mode control (no documented vendor APIs).
  • FPS capture needs Intel PresentMon supplied by the user; there is no in-game overlay.
